Anne McCaffrey created one of the most expansive and well-loved sci-fi/fantasy series (it’s kind of a hybrid of both), that has gone on to become one of the best series of its kind. This is the Dragonriders of Pern reading order.
What’s in the Dragonriders of Pern Reading Order?
The Dragonriders of Pern reading order takes the series written primarily by Anne McCaffrey and places them in chronological order. Some of the books were co-written by Anne and other authors, including her son Todd McCaffrey. All of the main books and short stories are included in this timeline. One book, After the Fall is Over, was being written by Anne, but she died in 2011 and was unable to complete it.
Since her death, however, her children have continued the series, so there are still more Pern books coming. Check back with this timeline to discover what is new.
Where to Start the Dragonriders of Pern?
This is actually a tricky question in this case, as the default chronological order below does not match the order of release. We would probably recommend reading them in the order of release, though if you’re already familiar with the saga as a whole, it won’t hurt to read through it chronologically.
